WHAT IS NAKU IN THE SAPARA COSMOVISION?

In the Sapara worldview, the Naku is not simply the jungle or a forest. It is a living, spiritual being, a sacred space where nature, spirits, and the memory of the ancestors coexist. The Naku is the territory of life, where everything is connected: people, animals, plants, rivers, and the spiritual beings that protect and guide the community.

For the Sapara people, every element of the Naku possesses spirit, energy, and purpose. Plants heal, trees protect, animals teach, and rivers sustain life. Therefore, their relationship with the rainforest is based on respect, balance, and reciprocity—fundamental principles of their worldview.

The Naku is also the realm of dreams, a space where messages, knowledge, and spiritual guidance are received. Through dreams, the elders and members of the community can understand signs from the land, find paths, learn about ancestral medicine, and maintain harmony between the visible and spiritual worlds.
